Wax carving is an ancient jewellery-making tradition dating back over 6,000 years.
Starting with a lump of jeweller’s wax, you saw and file it down into the shape you require, much like a sculptor working with stone. The finished wax piece is then sent to a caster to be transformed into any metal you choose through the process of lost wax casting.
This lovely ring is a complete one-off and a truly stunning statement piece.
The ring was created entirely by hand from jeweller’s wax. First, I carved the ring band, using a huge piece of jewellers wax and then drilled, filled and shaped holes of varying sizes and shapes into the surface to create this stunning organic texture and shape. It reminds me of a piece of Sea Sponge. It is like wearable art I think.
This is a beautifully chunky statement ring, perfect for everyday wear. This ring weighs 7.5g so is a weighty piece!
This ring is currently available in a UK size N, but it can be adjusted up by one size if needed.
